It was great to have Lynne Cantwell in to speak to a cross-section of our girls and ladies players this evening. Lynne is Ireland’s most capped women’s Rugby player, she sits on the board of Sports Ireland and was recently appointed as the High Performance Director for the South African Ladies Rugby team. It was a great privilege to hear some of her story in the club this evening.

Lynne spoke about her own experiences playing team sports at amateur and elite levels. She also gave some great insights about the importance of playing Team sports and all of the lifelong positive positive outcomes that can come with involvement in team sports.

Lynne also gave some advice on strength and conditioning, talked through overcoming injuries and gave some insights about how to work through issues with team mates and coaches when things are not working out.

The girls got involved and asked plenty of questions, even going as far as to ask Lynne when she’ll be taking a training session. The club would like to thank Lynne for giving up he time to come out and speak with the girls this evening.. We might even see her back some time soon to take a session on the pitch.
