*U10’s Girls Football Match Report: Naomh Barrog*

Our first day out for 2019 saw us visit our neighbours Naomh Barrog. Using
the old cliché it was ‘A game of two halves’ with O’Tooles battling bravely
into a gale force wind in the first half.

Our keeper Ava Byrne made some fine saves, with Gemma Dunne, Darcie Boyd
and Ella Tate putting in a huge shift keeping Barrog scores to a minimum.
Jane Byrne and Ruby Davey were two power houses in midfield working up and
down a field. In a tough first half for forwards Milly Healy, Sophie Mc
Dermott and Isabelle O’Meara competed for every ball with Sophie firing
over a great point into the wind.

The second half saw O’Tooles take over. Layla Deans, Sophie King and Gemma
put in some unbelievable blocks in defence. In midfield Jane and Ruby
continued their good work in the second half with Ruby firing in a
spectacular goal from 20 yards out. Holly Healy, Sinead Brabazon and
Darcie got an amount of ball in the second half with Darcie firing over a
massive point.

Well done to all, we had a lot of players involved in their first game with
the team. Next game is at home vs Beann Eadair on March 23rd.
