The venue again was St.Pauls school Ayrfield. The opposition provided us
with our toughest test thus far. Unfortunately we were second out from the
blocks this afternoon against our Donaghmede rivals. But we made them work
hard and were never going to make it easy.

A few scores conceded early on had us on the back-foot. The lads were back
in the game either side of the break, but Gaels kept going and pushing us
hard. We needed a bit of lady luck on our side as we dropped balls into
their box, but our opposition were resilient and defended with fortitude.
We were unlucky with a few wides, that on another day they would have been
chalked up.

Gaels played very well in fairness and were a credit to their coaches. The
scoreline was a fair reflection.

I can’t question the attitude and spirit of our lads. We’ll pick ourselves
up and live to fight another day.
