Congratulations to our U15 footballers that reached the final of the shield last night. The lads travelled to Lusk for their semi-final with Round Towers.

Round Towers initial attack saw them putting the first point on the scoreboard, but from then on ‘The Larriers’ superb attitude and hunger to succeed served them well. In defence, they tackled and turned over the ball, then moved it at pace to our forwards, who finished clinically. And from there to the half-time break the lads were in full command, going in 4-4 to 0-2.

The second half was equally as good and in fairness to Lusk, they never gave up, with the wind at their backs, making a real fight of it.

Our lads persisted doggedly. They played great free flowing football at times. It was an outstanding game to watch.

Hard luck to Round Towers, and a massive ‘WELL DONE’ to the Larriers.

It was a real team performance, with each and every player making a contribution.

A ‘BIG’ thank you to ‘Mace’ for sponsoring new tops to the team
