LeChéile Donnycarney Community & Youth Centre is the focal community
facilities and services provider for Donnycarney and neighbouring area.We
are currently recruiting a Caretaker/Porter30 hour weekImmediate Start

Applicant must be a team player, self-motivated and work to a high
standard.

Some knowledge of building maintenance while not necessary would be an
advantage.

This is a shift work position and will require Saturday working.

May require additional hours per week to meet the demands of the service

CDYSB salary scale applies €526.24 – €603.29 per 39 hour week. It is
probable that the successful candidate will start on point one of the scale.

Job Description – Caretaker

Reporting to the Centre Manager. Working as a part of a team to deliver a
quality service to all who access the Donnycarney Community & Youth Centre.

To present the premises in a proper fashion so that young people,
service users, staff and visitors are assured of a clean, safe, welcoming
and secure environment.

Opening and closing the Community & Youth Centre and sections therein as
directed and maintaining in safe custody all keys entrusted.

Walk and check on all areas in the car park, and on rooms, fittings, and
equipment on the Community premises, observing who is coming in and out of
the building.

Prepare rooms (organise tables, chairs etc) for meetings or other
activities.

Work with the reception staff to greet people arriving at the premises
ensuring they sign in and out and directing them appropriately

Ensuring all materials and equipment enter and leave the building with
proper authorisation.

Accepting delivery of goods and recording receipt.

Document all incidents and breaches of security and report them promptly
to the Centre Manager.

General upkeep and cleaning of the Centre grounds and premises keeping
all areas free of rubbish, minor repairs and painting as needed and
ensuring public areas and group rooms are vacuumed.

Keep a regular check on toilets to ensure they remain hygienic and
litter-free, and that stocks or liquid soap, toilet paper and hand towels
are replenished as needed.

Operating and maintaining the security alarm system.

Put out refuse for collection and collect bins and stow securely.

To follow LeChéile policies and to have regard for the need to work in a
confidential and professional manner.

To be available to work in a flexible manner.

To attend supervision sessions with the Centre Manager.

To follow procedure with regard to signing in/out, sick leave, annual
leave etc.

Bring to the attention of management any matter for which it is
responsible.

Any other duties relevant to the post as directed by the Centre Manager.

This position includes late evening and weekend work and the working
schedule is based on demand.
