Earlier this year, the well known club member Eugene Donoghue sadly passed away. Eugene was a regular figure at O’Tooles matches and social events and was the father of Senior Hurlers Liam and Paul.

In honour of his memory and as a tribute to the incredible care Eugene received in his final days and weeks at St Francis Hospice in Raheny, The Cycle For Eugene came about.

The Cycle for Eugene was organised by Liam Donoghue to raise money for St Francis Hospice, a charitable organisation. It stared in vain today, the 8 brave souls (mostly well-know middle-aged O’Tooles ex-players) above have donned the lycra and are cycling for 6 days covering 650KM traversing the country from the southernmost point of Mizen Head, Cork to the northernmost point at Malin Head, Donegal.

Today’s cycle took in Bantry, Kenmare and Killarney.

It’s not too late to donate to this worthy cause, the sponsorship link is below, all donations gratefully accepted.
