The senior hurlers put in a good evenings work on Saturday evening in Pairc Ui Tuthail beating Ballinteer St Johns in a convincing display. The Final score was O’Tooles 3-24 Ballinteer St Johns 1-9.

There were some outstanding performances in the first half including the outstanding Michael Carton who notched up 5 points from play in the first half alone. Ger Arthur scored 4 points from play and Peadar Carton picked up a opportune goal. At half time, O’Tooles led 1-12 to 1-3

In the second half, Ballinteer had a man sent off and O’Tooles continued to dominate. Subs Sean O’Keefe and Cian Wilson bagged a goal each. Peadar Carton and Niall Arthur notched 3 further points each.  The 21 point differential in the scoreline reflected the intense work-rate and overall performance of the entire O’Tooles team. Also good on the night were Richie Walker, Ger O’Meara, Kevin Ryan, Michael Cunningham, Christy Mulligan and Conor Carton.

Coming into the business end of the season, the seniors look like they are hitting their stride at the right time. Here’s hoping for a long run in the championship campaign.

This result leaves O’Tooles top of Division 1 with a game in hand. The final match of the season is on Wednesday 7 September away to Ballyboden St Enda’s. Try and make it out to support the lads.
