Today was big match day and although the match was a bit one-sided with the
Dublin Selection under the management of Jim Gavin winning well, there was
an enormous sense of occasion about the event.
The teams paraded around the pitch, led by a pile band who then gave a
rousing rendition of Amhran na bFhiann. This was followed by a minutes
silence to remember the dead of 1916 and then the throw in.
And so concluded our first weekend of events.
Don’t forget the specially commissioned play "The ‘Larriers’ Rising" next
Thursday and Friday in the Sean O’Casey Theatre in St. Marys Road East
Wall. Tickets can now be booked in advance in the clubhouse or from
Committee members.
