Ballyboden won out the conditioned hurling blitz held in the club last
beating our own under 11s in the final.

The standard of hurling on display was amazing, first touch, catching,
finding players and most of all the hook. Every team got better and better
at the hook as the night went. This was to hope for the blitz to bring
focus on the hook and I really feel it worked. I the final is was two hooks
that ended up separating the teams.

It was also pointed out that players became more aware on the ball not to
be hooked which was something I hadn’t thought of and was a bonus on the
night.

Many thanks to all the players and theirs mentors for travelling and we we
definitely see you all again as we are hosting 4 more Blitzes for under 11
this year.

Finally thank to the refs who did not have an easy job applying the rules
of the blitz.
