Donegal and Mayo reached the blitz final today in a repeat of the 2012 All Ireland Final with the same result occurring in Páirc Uí Tuathail as Croke Park.

It could be seen from their first game that Donegal were the team to beat. Their support play  was excellent, they had the ability to  move the ball from defence to attack with ease.

Player of the tournament Arron Keating lead the charge with goals, block downs and excellent vision. Arron wasn't alone, every player on the team; Cian, Oana, Luke, Adam (one of three under 9s taking part), Ben and Craig where excellent.

The rules for the blitz were conditioned to bring focus on the block down. Initially I was concerned that they may be complicated for younger players however once every team had a game under their belts, the games flowed brilliantly.

The next Blitz will be for the under 9s and 10s (time and date to be decided).

The club will host conditions blitz throughout the 2015 season. We will be using the registration form on the website for every blitz and ask that parents / guardians pre register for each blitz as it allows the teams be picked the night before and ensures the competition run smoothly.

The blitz couldn't of happened without help from all the mentors and the two refs, Cian and Rossa Wilson.
