We travelled to Co.Laois to participate in a Leinster Feile where we would take on teams from the host county , Meath & Kildare.First up were Slieve Margy from Laois. Our lads were quick out of the blocks with some good possession leading to a few scores. We were well on top all over the pitch restricting the opposition to half chances. The scoreboard was ticking over nicely in our favour as our lads converted most of our chances. The game continued in this fashion with O Tooles winning convincingly.
Following a quick break we faced Kildalkey from Meath. This was a completely different game to our earlier contest. Full on from the first whistle – no holding back , tackles flying in from both sides. We got the scoreboard moving first and were ahead at halftime by a point – all to play for.Kildalkey pulled ahead soon after the break with a well worked goal. The intensity went up a few more notches as they defended their lead & we tried to get back ahead. There were 2 points in it as we laid siege on their goal to get the winning score . Unfortunately for us they held out to seal the win after a fine game from both sides.
We were gearing up for our final game when we got word our opposition had legged it out of the ground.Either worried about facing the Larriers or something to do with wanting to be home to see Irelands game v Belgium in the euros. So we headed for home to do the same.A good day out for all.A big thanks to all the parents who ventured down to support the lads.
