After the excitement of Hurling Feile we were back in football league action with a trip to Rush to take on St Maurs.We were missing a few players through injury so had to make changes to our starting 15.On a sunny afternoon we made the perfect start with a goal straight from the throw in.We were well on top adding more scores in quick succession.But if the lads thought it would be easy they soon got a wake up call as on their next 2 attacks Maurs hit the back of the net.We replied with some goals of our own & finished the half on top.The half time talk focused on getting the basics right – passing, defending & competing for every ball.Most of the 2nd half we were camped in their half as the lads upped their efforts.This resulted in our forwards picking off good scores following good team play.We emptied the bench as we pulled away from Maurs with all subs making positive contributions to ensure a good win and another 2 points on a scoreline of 9:17 to 5:06. Our next football action is Feile – no doubt another rollercoaster day lies in wait !!
