We were based in St Annes for our 3 group matches with St Finians our first opponents.We didn’t start too well being off target with the chances created.It took until the 2nd half for us to get going when we got 3 goals to get the 1st win on board. Next up St Peters. We flew out of the traps in this one taking all our chances to finish the job before halftime – another good win.The last game was against the hosts who fielded a young team.Our experience showed and we quickly built up a big lead which allowed us to empty the bench & rest players for the semi final. Whitehall would be the opposition & they took control from the start getting 2 quick goals to put us on the back foot . However our lads fought back to go one point up as we approached halftime but we were looking tired.Whitehall got ahead again soon after the break and despite a huge effort from our lads we couldn’t get the win.A long day had ended in defeat but all of our players should be very proud of their efforts & how they represented their club.
